You use this activity to create and edit a sample plan, which is used to define sampling process settings (see Sampling).
You have created a Sample routing in Routing Maintenance (see Routing Maintenance).
The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Type |
The type of sample standard that will be used for the sample plan ANSI (default): Sampling process corresponds to ANSI standards. Custom: User can define sampling process settings arbitrary. For more information, see Sample Plan. |
Sample Plan |
Unique identifier of the sample plan |
Status |
The current status of the sample plan Releasable: The sample plan is used for sampling SFC numbers at defined attachment points. Operators can perform sampling on SFC numbers selected for this sample plan. Frozen: The sample plan is used for sampling SFC numbers at defined attachment points. The record of this sample plan should not be changed. Obsolete: The sample plan is no longer used for creating sampling groups at defined attachment points. SFC numbers in groups created according to this sample plan can be removed from SFC groups with status Group Created in SFC Step Status activity (see SFC Step Status). Hold: The sample plan is not used for creating sampling groups at defined attachment points. SFC numbers in groups created according to this sample plan can be removed from SFC groups with the status Group Created in the SFC Step Status activity (see SFC Step Status). This status is temporary. When the hold issue is resolved, you can change the status of this record. New (default): Users cannot perform sampling on SFC numbers selected for this sample plan, but they can change the settings of this sample plan. The sample plan is new and not ready for production. The following statuses are not applicable to the Sample Plan Maintenance and should not be used:
|
Sample Routing |
The routing to which the sample SFC numbers are sent and to which a rejected sample group is automatically moved (see Routing Maintenance) |
Sample Reject Message Type |
The message type sent to the user when the sample plan is rejected during production |
NC Severity Threshold |
The value with which total NC code severity is compared (see NC Code Maintenance) The severities of all NC codes logged for the specific sample SFC number are summarized and the total is checked against the NC Severity Threshold value of the Sample Plan snapshot. If this total value is equal to or greater than the NC Severity Threshold value, then this SFC number is counted as rejected. |
Allow Mixed Materials |
If checked, SFC numbers with different materials can be added to the same SFC group |
Create Distinct SFC Group for RMA SFCs |
If checked, SFC numbers that are on an RMA Order type will be added to the distinct SFC group. Otherwise, SFC numbers of all Order types will be added to the same group. Note that if this checkbox is checked, the Only SFC First Time through Step checkbox is disabled automatically. |
Only SFCs First Time through Step |
If checked, the SFC groups only include production SFC numbers that are in queue or in work at the step for the first time. RMA SFC numbers are excluded from sampling and are automatically completed If left unchecked, all SFC numbers will be included in the SFC group, regardless of the times they have been processed at this step. Note that if this checkbox is checked, the Create Distinct SFC Group for RMA SFCs checkbox is disabled automatically. |
Allow Sample Skip |
If selected, allows the user to skip sampling of the group during the manufacturing process. |
Sample Skip Message Type |
The message type sent when sampling of the SFC group is skipped during production |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
SFC Group Size |
The total quantity of SFC numbers (total number of pieces) in sampling group. In case of serialized SFC numbers, this size equals the quantity of SFC numbers in the group. |
Inspection Level |
Determines the relationship between the SFC group size and the sample size for sample plans of the ANSI General: typically used
Special: you can use this inspection level to keep the sample size small
Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. |
Code Letter |
An ANSI sampling standard characteristic that is determined by the system based on the SFC Group Size and Inspection Level values, and then used by the system to determine the sample size and Accept and Reject numbers The values are letters from A to R. Note The values are displayed only if you specify both the SFC Group Size and Inspection Level. This field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. End of the note. |
Inspection Procedure |
The type of inspection procedure during sampling for sample plans of the type ANSI Normal (default): Sampling is based on standard acceptance criteria Reduced: Sampling is based on a higher accept number and smaller sample sizes than under normal inspection Tightened: Sampling is based on more stringent acceptance criteria and a larger sample size than under normal inspection. Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. |
Tightened Reject Message Type |
The message type displayed to the user when the inspection procedure value is changed to Tightened in a sample plan of the type ANSI Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. |
Inspection Procedure Message Type |
The message type displayed to the user when the inspection procedure value is changed Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. |
Acceptance Quality Limit |
Refers to the quality limit of satisfactory process average. Used by the system to determine the accept and reject numbers for ANSI standard sample plan Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is Custom. |
Accept Number |
The largest number of failed sample pieces permitted for the sample to be accepted during runtime |
Reject Number |
The smallest number of failed sample pieces for the sample to be rejected during runtime |
Sample by |
Indicates whether the sample size shall be defined by a number or by the percentage of SFC Group Size and enables either the Fixed Number or Fixed Percentage field Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is ANSI. |
Fixed Number |
The total SFC quantity to be selected for sampling from the SFC group For example, if the SFC Group Size is 100 and the Fixed Number value is 10, then 10 SFC pieces are randomly selected for sampling from each SFC group. Note that the Fixed Number must be less than or equal to the SFC Group Size. Note that this field is cleared and disabled if the type of sample plan is ANSI. |
Fixed Percentage |
The percentage of the total SFC quantity to be sampled from each group For example, if the SFC Group Size is 200 and the Fixed Percentage value is 10, then 20 SFC pieces are randomly selected for sampling from each SFC group. Must be a positive number less than or equal to 100. May be a fractional value with up to 2 decimal places. |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Material Group |
The material group that the sample plan is attached to |
Material |
The material that the sample plan is attached to |
Operation |
The operation where the sample plan is executed To assure that different users can process the sample, define the resource for this operation as a process resource. Note You cannot attach sample plan to the operation in the following cases:
End of the note. |
Resource |
A specific resource where the sample plan is executed for the operation |
