Shop floor operators use nonconformance clients to log failure, defect, and repair information against work in process (WIP).

You can create nonconformance clients in NC Client Maintenance, though there are several nonconformance clients that come with the system (see NC Client Maintenance). You can use these nonconformance clients for many typical scenarios.

The following table describes nonconformance clients that come with the system:

Nonconformance Client

Description

LOG_NC

Log NC Client

Designed for operators to log primary NC codes. Operators cannot edit a logged NC.

LOG_NC_W_SECONDARY

Log NC with Secondary Client

Designed for operators to log both primary and secondary NC codes. Operators cannot edit a logged NC.

FAILURE_TRACKING_STANDALONE

Standalone NC Logging Client

Designed for users to log NC codes for WIP outside of the Production Operator Dashboard (POD)

VISUAL_TEST_REPAIR

Visual Test and Repair Client

Designed for users to provide an interaction between a model graphical viewer and a configuration of an NC client.

Example

The figure below shows a scenario for the standard nonconformance clients at different steps on the routing. In this case you use three separate operations for INSPECTION, DEBUG, and REPAIR on the routing:
