Line-On/Line-Off View of Orders Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Using the line-on view for the orders, the system displays the order bars according to the start date of the corresponding period, such as shift, in the planning view of the sequence schedule.

Using the line-off view for the orders, the system displays the order bars according to the finish date of the corresponding period, such as shift, in the planning view of the sequence schedule.

Therefore, you can choose whether you want to see when an order arrives at a line segment or when it leaves a line segment.

Integration

You define the view in Customizing for Sequencing. In the sequence schedule, you can switch back and forth between the line-on and the line-off views as necessary by changing the visualization settings.

Example

This function is clarified by the following example :

 ( )

An assembly is produced on production line 1. In the line hierarchy of the production line, you maintained the following data:

Maximum production rate = 100 pieces per hour

Number of takts in the line = 100

The system calculates a lead time of one hour per piece.

The line runs in two shifts: Shift 1 from 6.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and shift 2 from 2.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

The order is for 200 pieces and starts at 12.00 p.m.

From 12.00 p.m. until 2.00 p.m., one part is continually placed on the line.

From 1.00 p.m. until 3.00 p.m. assemblies are produced and available at the end of the production line.

Line-on view in the sequence schedule

If you selected the period, shift with the line-on view, the system displays the order for 200 pieces in shift one as the parts arrive at the production line between 12.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m.

Line-off view in the sequence schedule

If you selected the line-off view, you see that the assemblies leave the production line between 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. The sequence schedule displays 100 pieces in shift 1 and 100 pieces in shift 2.

Line-on view for the detailed data for the planned order

In the detailed data screen for the planned order, the system displays the date on which the first unit of the planned order arrives at the first takt of the production line as the start date of the planned order. The system displays the date on which the last unit leaves the first takt of the production line as the finish date of the planned order.

Line-off view for the detailed data for the planned order

In the detailed data screen for the planned order, the system displays the date on which the first unit of the planned order arrives at the last takt of the production line as the start date of the planned order. The system displays the date on which the last unit leaves the last takt of the production line as the finish date of the planned order.
