Activation of Business Place 
Use
You activate the business place at the country level.
Note
SAP fulfills the legal requirements associated with the business place for the following countries: Brazil , Philippines , South Korea , Taiwan , and Thailand . Although you can activate the business place for other countries, SAP does not support its usage in those countries.
Integration
Once you have created the business places required for your company code and assigned them to the relevant organizational units, the system automatically assigns a business place to documents containing a value-added tax item in Financial Accounting (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Materials Management (MM).

To activate the generic business place and configure its usage, complete the Customizing activities under
Cross-Application Components 
General Application Functions Business Place

If you are working with any of the supported countries listed above, do not complete the generic activities, but instead complete those listed in the country-specific documentation .
