Using SAP NetWeaver Mobile Client for Handhelds 

Use

SAP NetWeaver Mobile provides SAP applications and business processes on your mobile devices. SAP NetWeaver Mobile client is the front end of SAP NetWeaver Mobile and is installed on your PDAs. Through SAP NetWeaver Mobile client you can:

·        Access applications stored in your device

·        Download and upload data to the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE)

The DOE is the messaging server for your client device. The DOE performs the following functions:

·         Stores data and applications

·         Manages data distribution to your device, and other devices

·         Manages users and authorizations

There are two types of mobile clients for handhelds. Depending on the technology that your company has used to develop the mobile application, you have to use the particular mobile client.

       1.      Mobile client for handhelds that run applications developed using the Mobile Development Kit (MDK).

       2.      Mobile client for handhelds that run applications developed using the Mobile Applications for Handhelds plug-in. This is the latest client developed by SAP NetWeaver Mobile.
