 Triggering Replenishment via WM (for Release Order Parts) Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

This procedure shows you how to trigger the replenishment of components for production using Warehouse Management. It makes sense to use Warehouse Management in replenishment if you use WM to run your production storage location and a corresponding control cycle exists for its supply area.

In the control cycle, the component is set as a WM release order part. For release order parts, the system compares the individual requirements of a specific supply area with the available quantity (stock and already initiated replenishment). This means that the component staging is not order-related.

The procedure using release order parts is primarily used in Repetitive Manufacturing, since this type of production likewise generally proceeds without reference to orders.

Prerequisites

Maintaining master data:

  • In the BOM (in the material master or the production version), you must enter a supply area for the component.

  • The storage location to which the supply area is assigned must be run using WM.

  • You must have maintained a WM control cycle for the supply area, with the staging indicator ‘3’ (release order part) and the storage location.

Secondly, in addition to the standard entries, such as plant, selection period, you must have made certain settings for release order parts in the initial screen for the pull list:

  • You must select the staging type WM release order parts .

This brings you directly to the release order parts view.

  • You can adopt the standard settings for Global settings . If you are authorized to create transfer orders, you can select Immediate TO creation . This instructs the system to create transfer orders immediately in WM for the transfer requirements created in the pull list.

You can control the selection of certain components by entering additional filter criteria.

Procedure

  1. Select the components for which you wish to trigger replenishment.

  2. Choose Create replenishment proposals .

  3. The system automatically proposes the full missing parts quantity as the replenishment quantity. However, you can also enter the replenishment quantity manually.

  4. Choose List of replenishment elements .

  5. The system opens a second table, which gives information on the type of replenishment. In this table, you can change the staging quantity and other data.

     ( ) If, in the Global settings , you defined that the system is to open the table of replenishment elements automatically when accessing the pull list then this step is not necessary.

  6. Select at least one replenishment proposal and choose Stage .

  7. The system checks that the data you entered is correct. This done, the components are marked with a check in the lower table.

    If required, you can now print out the list of replenishment proposals. For more information, see Accessing the Pull List .

  8. Save your entries.

The system creates transfer requirements, that is, replenishment elements for Warehouse Management. If you selected Immediate TO creation in Global Settings , the system then directly creates transfer orders.

Result

You can use the printed list for the following procedures. For example, you can pass the list on to the employee in the warehouse who thus receives the information on the required quantities so that the physical stock transfer can be carried out.

Those responsible for WM convert the transfer requirement into a transfer order, if this has not already been done automatically (see above).

After the requirements have been staged, the goods issue is confirmed by the warehouse clerk.
