Use

The processing of kanban signals entered into the system via bar code scanners can be carried out using devices for mobile data entry if such devices have a display in addition to the scanner. This enables you to process errors encountered when setting a kanban status on the spot, for example.

For this purpose, existing screens in the Kanban component have been changed into character screens with the SAPConsole so that they can be shown on the display of a data entry device. This renders it unnecessary to use external middleware to convert the screens.

Integration

You make the settings for the use of this solution in Customizing for Logistics Execution .

Prerequisites

You have defined a main menu for Kanban under   Mobile Data Entry   Define Menu Management   in Customizing for Logistics Execution or you are using the dynamic Kanban menu supplied by SAP which is located under the warehouse number *.

You have assigned your users the dynamic main menu Kanban (in Customizing for Logistics Execution under   Mobile Data Entry   RF Queue Management   Assign User to Queues)   or your self-defined main menu.

Caution Caution

In the Status field, set the indicator so that the user is activated for the functions of mobile data entry.

The warehouse number used in menu management must match the warehouse number used when assigning the user to queues. This is necessary merely for technical reasons because the warehouse number has no significance for this process in Kanban. You can populate the Queue field any way you like because it likewise has no function within Kanban.

End of the caution.
