On the Routing tab page of the Routing Maintenance screen, in the palette on the left, drag the step to the work area on the right. Continue choosing and moving any additional steps to the work area.

Other Steps |
The steps that are not manufacturing operations These steps have an immediate result and do not require an SFC number to sit in a queue to await the result. Operators choose these steps upon disposition and the system then automatically moves the SFC number to the selection. Hold: Places the SFC number on hold when the SFC number is sent to this step Scrap: Scraps the SFC number when the SFC number is sent to this step Return (Original): Returns the SFC number to the step it came from Return (Any): Returns the SFC number to any step on the routing Return (Previous): Returns the SFC number to the step before the step it came from Return (Any Previous): Returns the SFC number to any step before the step it came from Return (Next): Returns the SFC number to the step after the step it came from Done: The SFC number is done when the SFC number is sent to this step. Double-click the step to open the Properties screen.

Drag an anchor (diamond shape) from one step to the next step to create the line that represents the path between two steps. Note that the arrow on the line indicates the direction of the movement.
If the step has multiple next step options, add additional anchors by right-clicking on the step and selecting the appropriate option from the menu. Repeat step 3 for each next step option.
To assign a script to the path, double-click the line that represents the path to open the Link Properties screen, and then select the script you want to assign in the Script field. You can write your own scripting code by selecting Custom Script in the Script field and adding the code in the Script Text Area.
Note
Scripting is used for controlling the decision-making process. To be fully automated with no operator intervention, you must assign a script for every path between steps. If there is only one next step, the system does not execute the script. For more information, see Setting Up Routing Scripts.
