Control Instruction Status Locate this document in the navigation structure

Each set of control instructions has a status documenting the current processing status of the instructions. The monitor for control instructions/recipes provides you with information on the status of control instructions at any time; see Displaying a List of Control Instructions .

For detailed information on the errors which have occurred, refer to the logs.

There are the following statuses:

The control instructions have been created but not yet been sent to their destination. This status is also retained by a set of control instructions if it could not be sent due to an error. However, in this case it is highlighted in red in the monitor.

The control instructions have been sent to their destination.

The control instructions cannot be executed. For this reason, processing is terminated before the execution is started.

Cancelled (terminated)

The control instructions have been terminated after the start of their execution.

The execution of the control instructions has been completed.

Caution Caution

Control instructions for external systems acquire the status Sent as soon as they have been passed on to the corresponding transactional remote function call (tRFC). Information on the execution of the tRFC is available only in the tRFC log.

End of the caution.

Updating of the status:

You update the status of a set of control instructions as follows:

  • Automatically when creating or sending

When you perform these functions, the system sets status of the affected control instructions to Created or Sent .

  • By creating a corresponding process message

This is necessary if you want to set the status to Discarded , Cancelled (terminated) , or Executed for control instructions for process control systems.

    Creation of process messages

  • By completing (closing) the associated work instructions

In this way, you set the status to Discarded , Cancelled (Terminated), or Executed for the work instructions in the case of control instructions. The associated status message is then generated internally by the system.

Integration with Production Order

If you use the status message defined in the standard system to update the status, the system automatically updates the corresponding order status as well.
