You use this activity to create and change resource records in the system (see Resource).
Note
You cannot change a resource record when SFC numbers are Active at that resource. You cannot give a resource the same name as an existing operation.
This activity allows you to do the following:
Group resources by type on the Resource Type tab page
Use hook point activities with resources (see Setting Up Activity Hooks)
Associate user certifications with resources on the Certifications tab page. You can also assign the certification to one or more user groups (see Certification).
Override system rules at the resource level on the System Rules tab page (see System Rule Maintenance)
Enter custom data values (see Custom Data)
The following table describes fields requiring explanation:
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Status |
The current status of the resource Enabled (default): Operators or machines can work on SFC numbers at the resource if the resource setup state is either Open or Setup. Disabled: The resource is no longer used. Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. Hold: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. This status is temporary. When the hold issue is resolved, users can change the status of this record. Use this status for relatively short durations, such as when an SPC violation occurs, or for quick routine maintenance of the resource. Scheduled Down: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. This status is due to scheduled maintenance. Unscheduled Down: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. This status is due to unscheduled maintenance. Non-Scheduled: The resource is not scheduled for use, for example, when the line is shut down. Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. Hold Consec NC: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers with consecutive nonconformances logged against them at the resource. Hold SPC Viol: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers with SPC violations at the resource. Hold SPC Warn: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers with SPC warnings at the resource. Hold Yield Rate: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers with yield rates below the defined values at the resource. Unknown: Operators or machines cannot start SFC numbers at the resource. This status is due to unknown reasons. Productive: Operators or machines can process SFC numbers at the resource. The system logs the time in minutes that a resource is in Productive status as the utilized machine time. The system uses this value to determine the utilization percent for a resource. Standby: Operators or machines can start SFC numbers at the resource, but the resource is currently idle. Engineering: Operators or machines can start SFC numbers at the resource, but the resource is currently being used for engineering purposes. |
Setup State |
Open: No setup is needed for the resource. Breaking Down: The resource is being broken down. Not Setup: The resource is not set up. Setting Up: The resource is being set up. Setup: The resource is set up and ready for production. |

Process Resource |
Defines whether a started SFC number is owned by the resource or the user ID that performed the start Selected: A started SFC number is assigned to the resource; any user ID can perform a complete. Deselected: A started SFC number is assigned to the user ID; this user ID must perform the complete. |
