 Assigning Work Centers in Work Center Maintenance Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

In order to assign a work center to a hierarchy, you must have already created the hierarchy .

You assign a work center to the hierarchy by either declaring the work center to be the root of the hierarchy or entering the superior work center.

You cannot change or delete an existing assignment to a hierarchy in work center maintenance. You can only do this in the hierarchy graphic , which you call up from hierarchy maintenance.

Procedure

Displaying existing assignments

  1. Choose   Goto   Hierarchy   Relationships   .

  2. The Hierarchy Relationships screen appears.

  3. If you want to assign the work center to a further hierarchy, choose   Edit   New entries.  

Assigning a Work Center

  1. Choose   Goto   Hierarchy   Relationships detail.  

  2. The Hierarchy Relationships Detail screen appears .

  3. Enter the plant and the name of the hierarchy that you want to assign the work center to. Choose Enter .

  4. If you want to define the work center as the uppermost level of the hierarchy, set the Root indicator.

    1. You can only do this if the hierarchy does not yet have a root.

  5. Otherwise enter the plant and the name of the superior work center.

    1. If you do not make any entries about where the work center is positioned in the hierarchy, it will not be assigned to the hierarchy.

  6. If necessary set the Stop explosion indicator .

  7. If you want to assign another work center, choose   Work center   Another work center   .
