You can choose to display only those rows that meet certain criteria in one or more columns.
Choose (Set Filter).
The Filter dialog box appears.
In step 1 choose one or more columns that you want to filter by.
In step two, click on the icon (Filter).
Depending on the column selection, you are offered one or more input templates to filter for the value(s).
Specify the relevant values that you want to filter for. You can also use F4 help at this point.
Confirm the dialog box.
If you selected a cell using the right mouse button and set a filter, the Set Values for Filter Criteria screen appears with the contents of the cell you selected as the value of the relevant filter criteria. You can either leave this entry or change it as required. After confirming this screen, the column is filtered according to this value.
Caution
For lists that are filled from an in-memory database, the filter step is executed directly for cell-based filtering and the prefilled dialog box is not displayed.
Cell-based filtering is additive, that is, if cell-based filtering is executed after the first filter procedure for a further field, the displayed list is further restricted using the additional criteria.
If a column is filtered, this is indicated by a small black filter in the column header.
You can execute multiple filter steps one after the other as described above. Click the icon (Filter) to get back to the dialog box Filter. Here you can view the filter definition that is currently set and change it, if required.
As only one filter is technically active in a list at one time, the function Delete Filter deletes the entire filter and not just individual filter criteria. Selecting individual columns therefore has no affect on the Delete Filter function. To delete individual filter criteria, follow the procedure for setting a filter and delete the relevant filter criteria.
To delete the filter, choose (Delete Filter).
In the in-memory database environment it is possible to remove cell-based set filters in a cell-based way. This means that only the filter criteria that were selected for the relevant column are deleted.
Select the field for which you want to delete the filter.
In the context menu of the field, choose Delete Filter.
To delete the filter for an entire list, choose the toolbar icon (Delete Filter).
Note
Filters can also be set for fields that are not displayed. In this case, the icon for feleting the filter is displayed in the toolbar. Using this icon makes it possible to see if a filter is set for a specific column.
In addition to the previously mentioned procedures, in full-screen mode you can also call the functions using the menu paths.
