Procedure documentation Creating an Assembly for a Material  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

You have created a material master for the material for which you want to create an assembly.

Procedure

...

       1.      Load the material, for which you want to create an assembly, in the navigation area.

       2.      Right-click on the material (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) and choose Create Assembly in the context menu.

The Create Assembly Headerdialog box appears.

       3.      Enter the plant and usage, the assembly group, assembly header and assembly alternative.

Note

If you do not enter an assembly group, assembly header, and assembly alternative, the system determines the keys automatically.

       4.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text OK.

The assembly group (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text), the assembly header (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text), and assembly alternative (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) are displayed in the navigation area.

The header data for the assembly group is displayed in the upper part of the detail area.

The system displays tab pages for the assembly group in the lower section of the screen.

       5.      If you want to use a change number to maintain the assembly items, enter a change number.

       6.      On the Assembly Items tab page, enter the assembly items with the materials that make up the material in the assembly header.

                            a.      If you have not yet created a material master for the materials, the Create Basic Data dialog box appears.

                            b.      You can go to the material master by choosing Yes and entering the necessary data. You can go back to the maintenance for the assembly items by saving your entries.

       7.      Enter the quantity of the material and choose Continue.

       8.      Enter assembly items for the other materials to be included in the assembly.

       9.      Save your entries.

Result

The highlighted area shows the structure of an assembly.
