Dispatching Planned Orders

Here, planned orders are dispatched to a sequence within the operating time.

The following planned orders are displayed in the section of the screen entitled Orders Not Yet Dispatched and can be dispatched:

  • Planned orders whose sequence is to be determined using the manual planning procedure.

  • Planned orders that you have deallocated manually.

  • Planned orders that the system could not dispatch automatically within the predefined planning period as it has already planned the complete operating time of the planning period.

  • Planned orders that have returned from an external planning procedure without any sequence number.

    Note Note

The system also schedules the planned orders that have not yet been dispatched and sets their start dates to the beginning of the first shift of the planning period. The operating time load cannot exceed 100 %.

    End of the note.

To dispatch a planned order, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the order you want to dispatch by clicking on the order bar.

  2. If you use the manual dispatching procedure, you can use the ‘drag and drop’ technique to place the planned order to the exact position in the operating time where you want the planned order to be dispatched.

If you use the automatic dispatching period, place the planned order in the desired planning period using the ‘drag and drop’ technique. The system then dispatches the order in the correct sequence (using the sales order number or item, for example)

    Note Note

You can also use guide lines as an extra aid when dispatching planned orders. If you use guides, you can dispatch planned orders with more precision.

To set the guides, choose   Setting   Disp.Start/End Date   Start Date with LineorEnd Date with Line.

If you select the start date with line, the system displays the guide at the start date of the order - at the left edge of the order symbol.

If you select the end date with line, the system displays the guide at the end date of the order - at the right edge of the order symbol.

    End of the note.
Deallocating Planned Orders

You can deallocate planned orders that have already been dispatched. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the order you want to dispatch by clicking on the order bar.

  2. Using the ‘drag and drop’ technique, you can place the planned order in the appropriate planning period in the section of the screen entitled Orders not yet dispatched .

As an alternative to this procedure, you can also deallocate the selected planned order by choosing Deallocate . Then the system also moves the selected planned order to the section of the screen entitled Orders not yet dispatched - to the last day of the dispatching period.

    Note Note

If you have defined night shifts, the system moves the planned order to the first day of the following planning period.

    End of the note.
Rescheduling Planned Orders

You can reschedule already dispatched planned orders.

  1. Select the planned order.

  2. Choose Reschedule .

The system displays the Reschedule dialog box.

  3. Enter the date of the dispatching period in which you want to place the planned order. If several lines were selected, enter the appropriate line. If you dispatch the planned orders manually, you can also enter the time.

As an alternative to this procedure, you can also place the planned order to the new dispatching period using the ‘drag and drop’ procedure.

The system dispatches the planned order in the newly selected dispatching period on the basis of the predefined planning procedure.

    • If you use the manual procedure, you can determine the sequence yourself. That is, you place the order to the position of your choice.

    • In the FIFO procedure, the system first dispatches the sales orders according to the order number and item and then it dispatches the stock orders according to the planned order number.

    • If you use external optimization procedures, the planned order is dispatched according to the selected sequencing logic.

Rescheduling Planned Orders to Another Production Line

To be able to dispatch planned orders to another production line, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:

  • In the material master record of the material, you must create a production version with this production line.

  • You must enter the alternative line in the initial screen.

You can also dispatch the planned orders to another line in the desired planning period using drag & drop.
