You use this process to set up SPC in order to perform SPC analysis of collected data (see Statistical Process Control (SPC)).
When you set up SPC, you decide the following:
What SPC chart types you want to see
What labels you want to display for control chart axes
What specification and control limits you want to define for secondary charts
What axes labels for control charts you want to maintain
Note
Not all chart types require secondary specification and control limits
What SPC message type you want to assign to SPC trend rules
When SPC analysis is performed and then displayed in the POD
You have installed the Statit e-Server software on an SPC server.
You have installed and started SAP ME SPC Server software on an SPC server.

In System Rule Maintenance, you specify the Statit Server Host Computer Name (see Miscellaneous Rules).
In SPC Chart Maintenance, you define control charts that you use for SPC analysis (see SPC Chart Maintenance).
In SPC Alarm Severity Maintenance, you assign an SPC message type to required SPC trend rules (see SPC Alarm Severity Maintenance).
In Message Type Maintenance, you verify that the following SPC message types are not disabled:
SPC_ALARM_WARNING
SPC_ALARM_VIOLATION
In Data Collection Maintenance, you complete fields on the SPC tab page of the Parameter Detail screen for required data parameters of the defined DC groups.
