Procedure

  1. On the As-Built Configuration screen, if you want to display components only with a specific state in the component tree, choose the desired filter in the Component State field (see As-Built Configuration).

  2. Enter the number of the SFC number you are working with.

  3. If the component tree does not appear, choose Retrieve.

The system displays the components you requested for the SFC number in the component tree. The name of an assembled component is displayed as a link. Unassembled components are displayed with plain text.

    Note Note

You can review information about an assembled component before removing it by choosing the component's link. The system displays the Component Assembly Details screen. Choose Close when you have finished reviewing information.

To work with the components of an assembled component that is a subassembly, select the component in the component tree and choose Actions > Show Sub-Assembly SFC.

The system opens another As-Built Configuration screen with the component as the selected SFC number.

    End of the note.
  4. To indicate that you have removed an assembled component from the SFC number, do one of the following:

    • Select the component in the component tree.

    • Enter one of the following values in the Choose field and press the TAB key: component name, reference designator, inventory ID, or SFC number.

  5. Choose Remove.

If you are removing and then adding a new component immediately, you can also choose Replace.

The system displays the Remove Component screen for the selected component.

  6. On the Remove Component screen, enter information in the Remove Assembly Details area and do one of the following:

    • To scrap the component, choose Scrap.

    • To return the component to inventory, choose Return. Use only with a component that has an SFC number or an inventory ID.

    • To send the component to a different routing, choose Send to Routing. Use only with a component that has an SFC number or an inventory ID.

The system may display a list specifying possible destinations for the removed component. Additional destinations may appear in another list when you make a selection. Select the destination you want and then choose OK.

Note that if you choose Replace instead of Remove on the main screen, the system automatically displays the Add Component screen.
