You can use this planning process if you are looking for a lean planning process in the system. It makes sense to use this process if you work in the consumer products industry and manufacture materials on a fully automated production line. You use takt-based scheduling and do not carry out lead time scheduling via the routing.

Prerequisites

You define the master data for this process in Line Design.

  • You create a line hierarchy to provide a structured view of the production line. In the most simple case, the line hierarchy may only consist of one line segment, that is, the header work center. You enter a maximum production rate. This is the production rate you want to use for the production line on a long-term basis.

  • You enter the planned production rate you want to produce in a period in the line hierarchy.

  • If you produce different materials on the production line you can enter material-dependent production rates, if necessary.

  • You only require a rate routing if you want to create a standard cost estimate for the material. You can use a standard cost estimate, for example, to post production activities to the product cost collector.

Process flow

  1. Carry out an MRP run.

  2. Access the planning table with Sequencing. The system carries out takt-based scheduling.

  3. Check the production quantities in the planning table. If necessary, you can also plan other quantities.

  4. You can also display the production quantities as order bars in the sequence schedule where you can process them graphically.
