Commodity forward market data can be used to view trends in the commodity markets. Commodity forwards are exchange independent; the data is provided by market data providers.

Prerequisites

You need to create the forward-based commodity curve. See also: Creating Commodity Curves.

Activities

There are various ways with which you can import the market data into the system: using the file interface, using datafeed, or entering the data manually.

To enter market data manually, proceed as follows:

  1. In the application menu of Treasury and Risk Management, choose   Financial Risk Management for Commodities   Market Data and Simulation   Market Data   Enter Forward Rates for Commodity Curves   (transaction TPM_TRCO_FWDMD).

    You can also access the data entry function from the master data of the commodity curve (transaction TANCCMASTER).

  2. Enter the Commodity ID.

  3. Enter the market data provider.

  4. Enter the quotation type.

  5. Enter the quotation date.

  6. Choose Add.

  7. Enter the quotation values.

  8. On the Graphical Display tab page, you see the commodity curve.
