Configuring Source Systems for Further ApplicationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

You must connect the source systems of the application with the Change and Transport System so that you can transport the related development objects with the Change and Transport System. This function is only available if the CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system.

Prerequisites

Note This function is available only if the CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system.
  • The CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system.

  • You are in the Domain Controller of your transport domain.

  • You have received all the information from the vendor of the application that you need to be able to connect it with the Change and Transport System.

Procedure

  1. In Transport Management System (transaction code STMS), call the system overview.
  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Application Types Next navigation step Configure End of the navigation path.
  3. On the next screen, choose New Entries.
  4. On the next screen, specify values for the following fields.
    Note The value for the current Transport Domain is entered. You cannot make an entry in this field.

    • Application Type

    • Description

    • Support Details

  5. Save your entries and confirm that you want to distribute the configuration.
  6. If you run your systems in multiple languages, you can specify the translation for the texts of the fields Description and Support Details. To do this, follow the procedure below:

    1. To return to the overview screen, choose Back.

    2. Choose Start of the navigation path GoTo Next navigation step Translation End of the navigation path.

    3. Select the languages into which the texts are to be translated and choose Accept.

    4. Enter the translations of the specified languages and choose Continue.

  7. Save your entries and confirm that you want to distribute the configuration.

Results

The application is connected with the Change and Transport System. You can now select the application in the Transport Organizer Web UI when choosing the file object that is to be attached to a transport request. This configures the source systems for transporting objects of the connected application.
