You use the SY521 hook point activity to print documents, created from master data from SAP Manufacturing Execution, through SAP NetWeaver Adobe Document Server (ADS).

Note that the document to be printed must be present in the User Argument field where the hook is attached. For more information, see Setting Up ADS Printing.

This activity is commonly used with the following hook points at the operation, routing step, and resource:

  • PRE_COMPLETE

  • POST_COMPLETE

  • PRE_START

  • POST_START

This activity is commonly used with the following hook points at site level:

  • POST_ORDER_RELEASE

  • REOPEN_CONTAINER

  • POST_SERIALIZE

  • POST_SPLIT

  • POST_CONTAINER_CLOSE

  • POST_INV_RECEIPT

  • POST_PROD_CHANGE

You can print files in the following formats:

  • ZPL

  • PDF

  • PS

  • PCL

If a printer is defined in POD Maintenance, the system uses that printer instead of a printer defined for ADS Document Print (SY521) in Activity Maintenance.
