Setting Up Standard PODs 
You have defined POD lists in List Maintenance.
On the initial screen of POD Maintenance, specify the Standard POD type and enter the name of this POD.
On the Main tab page, enter the required information. The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Main Input |
The label for the SFC field on the POD This field label can be updated to a customer value to match their manufacturing process. Default value: I18N[sfc.default.LABEL]I18N is an abbreviation for the word internationalization. The text between the brackets is the identifier for the label. If you want your label to be internationalized, you must use the format of the default value with the label identifier you want. |
Assembly Point List |
The Assembly Point list that appears when the Assembly Point (CT500) activity is executed (see Assembly Point) |
NC Client |
The nonconformance client for this POD Use NC Client Maintenance to define the behavior and look of the nonconformance-related buttons (see NC Client Maintenance). |
Real-Time Event Display |
Determines how the real-time events are displayed in the POD: None: Real-Time Event messages are not displayed in the POD. Button: Displays the Real-Time Event Display button. This button changes color and image as messages arrive. Operators choose the button to view the messages on the Real-Time Event Display screen. Popup: Displays the Real-Time Event Display screen as a popup each time a message arrives Window: Displays the Real-Time Event Display screen when the operator opens the POD
If the administrator selects the Button option, then, when a user opens the POD for the first time, the system displays the Java Plug-In Security Warning screen. End of the note. |
Special Instruction Display |
The special instruction that is defined for the operation or routing operation on the POD: None: Does not display the special instruction. Info Message: Displays the special instruction in the POD to the left of a button area upon starting an SFC number. Popup: Displays the special instruction in a popup window upon starting an SFC number. |
Session Timeout (mins) |
The number of minutes the POD can be inactive before the system logs the operator out The default is 30 minutes. |
Plug-In Frame Size |
The size of the plug-in frame for this POD |
Plug-In Default |
The name of the plug-in to run in the lower half of the POD when an operator opens the POD |
Show Quantity |
If selected, displays the Quantity field in this POD Note that this is used for nonserialized processing. |
Error Popup |
If selected, displays error messages to the operator in a pop-up window |
On the Buttons tab page, define the pushbuttons or pushbutton groups that appear in the POD (see Defining POD Pushbuttons and Pushbutton Groups)
On the Options tab page, define what the system displays in the lower half of the POD screen:

Task List |
The name of the Task list. The Task list appears when the operator clicks the browse icon next to the Main Input (SFC) field. You can create your own task lists in List Maintenance. |
Active Work List |
The name of the Active Work list. The POD initially displays this list in the lower half of the window after the Operation and Resource fields are filled in. You can define your lists in List Maintenance. |
Default Operation |
The name of the operation the POD displays in the Operation field when an operator opens the POD If you leave it blank, no operation is displayed. Supplying this value eliminates the need for the operator to enter it every time he or she opens the POD. |
Operation Can Be Changed |
If selected, allows operators to change the operation the POD displays in the Operation field |
Default Resource |
The name of the resource the POD displays in the Resource field when an operator opens the POD If you leave it blank, no resource is displayed. Supplying this value eliminates the need for the operator to enter it every time he or she opens the POD. The operator can change the value. |
Resource Can Be Changed |
If selected, allows operators to change the resource the POD displays in the Resource field |
SFC Queue Button ID |
The activity that is executed when the user enters a value in the SFC field and tabs out of the field when an SFC number is In Queue at the entered operation. Note that the button ID should be a single activity not a group activity. |
SFC In Work Button ID |
The activity that is executed when the user enters a value in the SFC field and tabs out of the field when an SFC number is In Work at the entered operation. Note that the button ID should be a single activity not a group activity. |
Session Info Line 1 |
The first 'session info' line that is displayed in the POD: None: Indicates that nothing is displayed Completed: Indicates that the number of SFC numbers completed at the current operation and/or resource. Nonconformed: Indicates that the number of SFC numbers nonconformed and dispositioned at the current operation and/or resource Active: Indicates that the number of active SFC numbers/SO/PL in work at the current operation and resource In Queue: Indicates that the number of SFC numbers in queue at the current operation and/or resource |

Show Operation First |
If selected, displays the Operation field to the left of the Resource field |
If required, specify printers for specific document types on the Printers tab page (see Document Maintenance).
On the Custom Data tab page, enter values in the fields defined for this POD in Custom Data Maintenance.
