You use this tab page to assign assembly data types to materials.

Prerequisites

You have defined data types in Data Type Maintenance.

Fields

The following table describe fields requiring explanation:

Field

Description

Data to Collect on Assembly

For a material, the data fields displayed to the operators to collect when they assemble this material into a parent assembly

Data to Collect on Removal

For a material, the data fields displayed to the operators to collect when material is removed from a parent assembly

Data to Collect on Inventory Receipt

For a material, the data fields displayed to the operators when material is added to floor stock inventory

Assembly Pt Parsing Activity

The activity ID of the custom activity you want the system to run at the PARSE_COMPONENT hook point of the Assembly Point activity

User Argument

The data the system passes to the custom activity you identified in the Assembly Pt Parsing Activity field

The Assembly Point activity neither uses nor validates the data.

Validation Mask Group

The mask group for this material

Max Usage as Component

The maximum usage count for this material. Overrides the site-level system rule.

Note Note

If the lot size is greater than 1, the actual maximum usage of the material can equal the Max Usage as Component value multiplied by the lot size value.

End of the note.

Increment Batch Number

The increment method for the batch number

None (default): The batch number is not used for this material.

Per Day: Creates a new batch number every working day

Per Order: Creates a new batch number for each new shop order

Per Shift: Creates a new batch number every time a new working shift starts

Note Note

This field is visible only when the ERP Integration Active system rule is set to true.

End of the note.

Time Base Component Type

The time-based tracking type for the material

Normal: Only one component is loaded onto a slot during runtime.

Splice: Multiple components are loaded onto a slot during runtime. When the current component reaches zero, it is assumed the next or most recent component is being consumed.

Continuous: Multiple components are loaded onto a slot during runtime. When the current component reaches zero, the next or most recent component is being consumed until all components are unloaded for the setup slot configuration.

Consumption Tolerance

The quantity used for consumption tolerance due to uncertainty about the quantity during assembly for the splice time-based component

Trackable Component

If selected, users can create trackable SFC numbers for this component.

Note Note

This setting controls the Create Trackable SFC production activity (see Create Trackable SFC). To allow operators to create trackable SFCs in Assembly Point (CT500) or when they add components in the POD or in As-Built Configuration, add this component to a BOM in BOM Maintenance.

End of the note.

Note Note

If you selected the Panel checkbox and specified a lot size value of greater than 1 on the Main tab page, you need to specify the locations of the pieces on the panel.

End of the note.
