The result of a hold depends on the object you place on hold, the type of hold you place, and the setting of the SFC numbers on Hold Can Be Started system rule. See the table below for details:

SFC

Operators cannot perform activities on an SFC number if the status of the SFC number is Hold.

If a future hold is assigned to an SFC number, the status of the SFC number will be changed to Hold as soon as the SFC number has been placed In Queue at the future hold operation.

  • The hold type determines the relevant step. Immediate holds apply to all steps the SFC number has not completed. Future holds apply to the operation you choose when you place the SFC number on hold.

  • The SFCs on Hold Can Be Started system rule determines whether holds on SFC numbers prevent them from being started at affected operations.

Material, routing, or shop order

The material, routing, or shop order you place on hold cannot be used to release more SFC numbers to the shop floor while the hold is in effect.

SFC numbers already released are not affected unless you specifically place a hold on them as well.
