On this screen you provide information used to configure the following SAP MII scheduler jobs:

  • Message Dispatcher (MessageDispatcher)

  • Queue Message Cleaner (QueueMessageCleaner)

Message Dispatcher Area

The Message Dispatcher scheduler job is used to process the queued messages in SAPMEINT.

Number of Messages
Description

Enter the number of messages in the SAPMEINT queue to be processed by the scheduler job. The scheduler job will process only the specified number of messages for each task run.

    SAPMEINTCTC creates a scheduler job in SAP MII with the name Message Dispatcher with the Number of Messages and Pattern specified on this screen. You can verify these configurations by choosing   System Management   Schedule Editor   in SAP MII Dashboard menu.

Recommendation

For optimal performance, we recommend to process a smaller number of messages more frequently rather than to process a larger number of messages less frequently.

Queue Message Cleaner Area

The Queue Message Cleaner scheduler job is used to clean up the processed messages in SAPMEINT. This task cleans up any message in SAPMEINT whose status is not one of following:

  • QUEUED

  • RETRY

  • IN_CORRELATION

Message Retention Period
Description

Enter the number of hours the messages will be kept in the system after they are received into SAPMEINT. Only messages whose status is not one of those listed above are cleaned up after the retention period is exceeded.

Recommendation

For optimal performance, we recommend to set the message retention period so that the scheduler job processes a smaller number of messages more frequently rather than to process a larger number of messages less frequently.
