Procedure

  1. On the initial screen on POD Maintenance, specify the Integrated POD type and enter the name of this POD.

  2. On the Main tab page, enter the required information. The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

    Status

    If enabled, allows you to use this POD

    Main Input

    The label for the SFC field on the POD. This field label can be updated to a customer value to match their manufacturing process.

    Default value: I18N[sfc.default.LABEL]I18N is an abbreviation for the word internationalization. The text between the brackets is the identifier for the label.

    If you want your label to be internationalized, you must use the format of the default value with the label identifier you want.

    Assembly Point List

    The Assembly Point list that appears when the Assembly Point (CT500) activity is executed (see Assembly Point)

    NC Client

    The nonconformance client for this POD

    Use NC Client Maintenance to define the behavior and look of the nonconformance-related buttons (see NC Client Maintenance).

    Real-Time Event Display

    Determines how the real time events are displayed on the POD:

    None: Real-time event messages are not displayed in the POD

    Button: Displays the Real-Time Event Display button. This button changes color and image as messages arrive. Operators choose the button to view the messages on the Real-Time Event Display screen.

    Popup: Displays the Real-Time Event Display screen as a popup each time a message arrives

    Window: Displays the Real-Time Event Display screen when the operator opens the POD

    Note Note

    If the administrator chooses Button , then, when a user opens the POD for the first time, the system displays the Java Plug-In Security Warning screen.

    Special Instruction Display

    The special instruction that is defined for the operation or routing operation on the POD:

    None: Does not display the special instruction

    Info Message: Displays the special instruction in the POD to the left of a button area upon starting an SFC number

    Popup: Displays the special instruction in a popup window upon starting an SFC number

    Session Timeout (mins)

    The number of minutes the POD can be inactive before the system logs the operator out

    The default is 30 minutes.

    Plug-In Frame Size

    The size of the plug-in frame for this POD

    Plug-In Default

    The name of the plug-in to run in the lower half of the POD when an operator opens the POD

    Show Quantity

    If selected, displays the Quantity field in this POD

    Note that this is used for nonserialized processing.

    Error Popup

    If selected, displays error messages to the operator in a pop-up window

  3. On the Buttons tab page, define the pushbuttons or pushbutton groups that appear in the POD (see Defining POD Pushbuttons and Pushbutton Groups)

  4. On the Options tab page, define what the system displays in the lower half of the POD screen:

    SFC Selection List

    The SFC Selection list that is displayed when the activity rule SFC_SELECTION_REQ for SFC Selection is set to YES.

    SFC Selection Activity

    The activity ID for SFC Selection to be used in the Integrated POD

    DC List

    The Data Collection list that is displayed in the Integrated POD

    Display DC List

    If selected, displays the Data Collection list in the Integrated POD

    Comp Assy List

    The Component Assembly list that is displayed in the Integrated POD

    Display Comp Assy List

    If selected, displays the Component Assembly list in the Integrated POD

    Split GUI Vertical

    If selected, displays the optional lists to the right of the work instructions.

    Display Confirm Component List

    If selected, displays the Confirm Component list in the Integrated POD

  5. If required, specify printers for specific document types on the Printers tab page (see Document Maintenance).

  6. On the Custom Data tab page, enter values in the fields defined for this POD in Custom Data Maintenance.

  7. Save your entries.
