Procedure

  1. On the initial screen on POD Maintenance, specify the Rich POD type and enter the name of this POD.

  2. On the Main tab page, enter the required information. The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

    Field

    Description

    Status

    If enabled, allows you to use this POD

    NC Client

    The nonconformance client for this POD

    Use NC Client Maintenance to define the behavior and look of the nonconformance-related buttons (see NC Client Maintenance).

    Note Note

    In the Rich POD, the user can log only primary nonconformance codes.

    Special Instruction Display

    The special instruction that is defined for the operation or routing operation on the POD:

    None: Does not display the special instruction

    Info Message: Displays the special instruction in the POD to the left of a button area upon starting an SFC number

    Popup: Displays the special instruction in a popup window upon starting an SFC number.

    Session Timeout (mins)

    The number of minutes the POD can be inactive before the system logs the operator out

    The default is 30 minutes.

    Error Popup

    If selected, displays error messages to the operator in a pop-up window

  3. On the Buttons tab page, define the pushbuttons or pushbutton groups that appear in the POD (see Defining POD Pushuttons and Pushbutton Groups)

  4. On the Layout tab page, specify the layout for your POD:

    • 6 Panel - Horizontal: Displays two panels in the upper part of the POD, one panel in the middle, and three panels in the lower part of the POD

    • 6 Panel - Vertical: Displays two panels in the upper part of the POD, one panel in the left part of the POD, and three panels in the right part of the POD

    • 2 Panel - Horizontal: Displays one panel in the upper part of the POD, and one panel in the lower part of the POD

    • 3 Panel - Horizontal: Displays one panel in the upper part of the POD, and two panels in the lower part of the POD

  5. Configure plug-ins that are displayed in various panels on the Rich POD:

    Column

    Description

    Panel

    Displays the value from the graphic that pertains to this panel

    Type

    Displays the type of layout identified for the panel: Popover, Popup, and Fixed

    Default Plug-In

    The activity ID associated with the default plug-in for the panel

    This field is greyed out when the value is Popup or Popover.

    Note that the list is limited to activities with the Rich activity type.

    Other Plug-Ins

    Allows you to associate one or more additional plug-ins to the panel in addition to the default plug-in identified in the Activity ID column by inserting new rows in the table on the Other Plug-In Details screen.

  6. On the Options tab page, define what the system displays in the lower half of the POD screen.

    You can define your lists in List Maintenance (see Defining POD Tables and Plug-In Lists).

  7. If required, specify printers for specific document types on the Printers tab page (see Document Maintenance).

  8. On the Custom Data tab page, enter values in the fields defined for this POD in Custom Data Maintenance.

  9. Save your entries.
