SPC Alarm Severity Maintenance

You use this activity to assign an alarm type to each trend rule for a site. The alarm types are SPC warning and SPC violation. A third option is to ignore the rule violation and not propagate it through the event handler. For more information, see Statistical Process Control (SPC) and SPC Chart Maintenance.

The following tables describe fields and tab pages requiring explanation:

Field	Description
Alarm Type	SPC Violation: The event sent to the system, for this specific trend rule, that has a severity of violation. It displays in red on the SPC Display activity screen. A violation has a higher priority than a warning. SPC Warning: The event sent to the system, for this specific trend rule, that has a severity of warning. It displays in yellow on the SPC Display activity screen. Ignore: This option disables alarming for the specific trend rule. It displays in gray on the SPC Display activity screen when a rule is violated, but set to ignore.

Alarm Type

SPC Violation: The event sent to the system, for this specific trend rule, that has a severity of violation. It displays in red on the SPC Display activity screen. A violation has a higher priority than a warning.

SPC Warning: The event sent to the system, for this specific trend rule, that has a severity of warning. It displays in yellow on the SPC Display activity screen.

Ignore: This option disables alarming for the specific trend rule. It displays in gray on the SPC Display activity screen when a rule is violated, but set to ignore.

Caution Caution

During data initialization, the following two SPC alarm types are inserted in the database and must not be deleted in the Event Maintenance activity:

SPC_ALARM_WARNING
SPC_ALARM_VIOLATION
