You use this activity to modify a bill of material (BOM) for individual shop orders or SFC numbers. For example, a customer decides to add an optional feature to a specific SFC number that has already been released to the shop floor.

You can also use this activity to add the new component to the SFC's BOM while keeping the SFC number in the same shop order.

The BOMs you change using this activity may contain components belonging to kits. You can add entire kits and remove components belonging to kits (see Component and Kit). For more information, see Changing BOMs After Shop Order Release.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Select By

The criterion used to retrieve SFC numbers

Note that the SFC number or shop order whose BOM you want to modify must not have the status In Work. If it is in work the Signoff activity must occur.

Material/Vers.

The material and its version of the shop order or SFC number you are changing

Assy Sequence

The component's assembly sequence relative to other components in the BOM

Assy Qty

The quantity of the component to be added to the assembly at the specified operation and/or reference designator

Consume All

If selected, components are consumed when the kit SFC number is assembled.

This checkbox is activated only if the component has the Kit shop order type.
