Function documentation Report for Range-of-Coverage Evaluation  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The report RMDDSUPPLY01 carries out an evaluation of the ranges of coverage (stock days' supply and first and second receipt days supply), i.e. it determines the current range-of-coverage values and places these values in a database table. It then compares the range-of-coverage values determined with the limit values you defined in the evaluation profile for range-of-coverage data. In this way, the system is able to determine the critical materials.

The range-of-coverage evaluation is needed both for the selection options in the Collective Display of the Stock/Requirements List (MD07) on the Provisional Range of Coverage tab page and for the Range-of-Coverage Overview in the Business Package for the Production Supervisor.

SAP recommends scheduling this report as a periodic batch job (e.g. every 4 hours or once a day).

Integration

The report RMDDSUPPLY01 can be run online or as a batch job in the background. The report is offered in the following area menus:

Material Requirements Planning under Evaluations Periodic Range-of-Coverage Evaluation

Materials Management under Material Requirements Planning Requirements Planning Evaluations Periodic Range-of-Coverage Evaluations.

The report RMDDSUPPLY02 for the range-of-coverage evaluation in long-term planning can also be run online or in the background. This report is offered in the Long-Term Planning menu under Evaluations Periodic Range-of-Coverage Evaluations.

Features

Selections

On the initial screen of the report, you can specify selection criteria such as the following:

You can specify that the report selects only materials with a certain range of coverage.

By entering the appropriate indicator in the Provisionally Critical Materials field, you can make a targeted selection of those materials that had a critical status at the time of the last evaluation. Note that this traffic light status can differ from the current planning situation because here the system checks the status after the last execution of the report.

Example

If, for example, you set the indicator 2 (take traffic light status red into account), the system selects for evaluation of the range-of-coverage data only those materials that were already critical (red traffic light) at the time of the last evaluation. "Critical" means that the range-of-coverage values for these materials have fallen below the limit value you set in the evaluation profile for range-of-coverage data.

Cleanup Interval

You can specify a cleanup interval on the initial screen of the report. The system then deletes the entries that are older than the specified period from the database table in each evaluation.

Deletion Mode

You can use this indicator to specify that the report is to delete the range-of-coverage values for the selected materials. In this case, the report does not determine any range-of-coverage values but deletes the entries from the database table.
