Calculating Public-Legal Dunning Charges
This function allows you to calculate dunning charges especially for public-legal dunning procedures.
With dunning procedures that were not characterized as public-legal in the Funds Management Government Customizing, the program calculates the dunning charges in the same way as in the Financial Accounting component. For more information, see section Accounts Receivable/Payable Accounting of the SAP Library under Dunning.
Under Enhance dunning procedures , you must have maintained the additional data for the public-legal dunning procedure in the Funds Management Government Customizing.
You must have also entered the charges for the dunning procedure used in the Financial Accounting component.
Determining Dunning Amount
The total of the overdue items grouped together for dunning, forms the basis upon which the program calculates the dunning charge. When creating revenue types in Customizing of Funds Management Germany you can determine that items that are assigned to these revenue types are excluded when calculating dunning fees. These items are not included in the dunning amount. The dunning amount determined in this way is first rounded: by using the Rounding unit for the Dunning Amount stored in Customizing. The program determines which unit the dunning amount should display (for example, round EUR or round one hundred EUR). This amount is then rounded up or down in accordance with the rounding rule stored in Customizing. The basic amount entered in the Enhance Dunning Procedures section of the Funds Management Government Customizing is deducted from this round dunning amount. The result is a net dunning amount whose basic amount is used to determine the percentage dunning charge.
Calculating Dunning Charges
A fixed dunning charge is raised for the basic amount, that is, the one you have entered for the dunning procedure used in the Financial Accounting Customizing. A percentage dunning charge is raised for amounts above this. You have defined this percentage rate in the Funds Management Government Customizing. It is multiplied by the net dunning amount and added to the fixed dunning charge. The total from fixed and variable dunning charges is again rounded: You can specify an individual rounding unit for the dunning charge in Customizing. The rounding rule you have specified for the dunning amount also applies to the dunning charge.
Note
If you have defined no basic amount for fixed dunning charges, then no percentage dunning charges are calculated either.
Determining the dunning charge to be paid
If dunning interest is also calculated in addition to the dunning charge, the maximum amount defined in Customizing takes effect. In this case, the program compares the calculated dunning charge with the maximum amount: if the calculated dunning charge is higher than the maximum amount, the debtor must only pay the maximum amount defined in Customizing for the dunning charge.
If no dunning interest is due (because an additional period was granted to raise the interest), then the program does not match the dunning charge against the maximum amount defined in Customizing. In this case there is no limit on the dunning charge.
