Function documentationTransfer of Work Center with Individual Capacities

This function enables the transfer of a work center of any category including data on individual capacities from SAP ERP to create or update the corresponding work center with nested resources in SAP ME (see Work Center and Resource).

Note Note

SAP ERP work centers of the 9000 and 9100 categories transferred from SAP ERP using the LOIWCS02 IDoc appear in SAP ME as work centers and resources respectively (see Transfer of Work Center to Resource/Work Center).

End of the note.

Integration

When you send a work center with individual capacities from SAP ERP to SAP ME, SAPMEINT creates a work center with nested resources. Each SAP ME resource corresponds to an individual capacity in SAP ERP.

Additionally, you can assign an equipment number to an individual capacity (SAP ME resource) by doing the following in SAP ERP:

  1. Create an equipment (transaction IE01) and assign the work center to the equipment.

  2. Add the individual capacity and, optionally, the resource types as classification data to the equipment.

When you transfer the work center with these classification fields to SAP ME, the resources will have equipment number and resource types assigned in SAP ME.

You can use the transaction COMES_CAPA_ALLOC in SAP ERP to see relationships between work centers, individual capacities, and equipments.

For information about the usage of equipment in case of scheduled or unscheduled downtime, see Integration of Equipment.

Prerequisites

SAP ERP
  • You have set up ALE communication to create and transmit LOIWCS IDocs (see Customizing for ALE for Communication with SAP ME).

  • You have defined DRF Replication Model to replicate LOIWCS03 IDocs (in Customizing for Production, choose Start of the navigation path Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System Next navigation step Basic Settings for MES Integration End of the navigation path). For information about SAP ERP versions supporting DRF, see SAP Note 1793291Information published on SAP site.

  • You have verified that all work centers have the same activity types arranged in the same sequence.

  • To establish the relationship between individual capacities and equipments, you have created the following characteristics (transaction CT04):

    • MES_CAPACITY_CATEGORY

    • MES_INDIVIDUAL_CAPACITY

    • MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_1

    • MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_2

    • MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_3

You have create the following classes (transaction CL02):

    • MES_CAPACITY_ALLOC

with assigned characteristics MES_CAPACITY_CATEGORY and MES_INDIVIDUAL_CAPACITY

    • MES_RESTYPE_ALLOC

      with assigned characteristics MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_1, MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_2, and MES_RESOURCE_TYPE_3

For more information, see the COMES_CAPA_ALLOC report documentation by choosing the i button in transaction COMES_CAPA_ALLOC.

SAP ME

Activities

  • You create or update a work center master record and specify individual capacities of the Machine (001) capacity category in SAP ERP (see Creating, Changing and Displaying Work Centers).

  • You send it to SAP ME (see Procedure: Select Master Data).

See also: Integration of Master Data

  • SAPMEINT does one of the following:

    • Creates each resource record and then creates a work center record with associated resources in SAP ME (see Work Center Maintenance).

    • Updates a work center containing one or more resources in SAP ME (see Work Center Maintenance). If a resource does not exist in SAP ME, SAPMEINT creates it.

If an individual capacity is removed from the work center in SAP ERP and a work center update is sent to SAP ME, the corresponding resource will have the status Disabled and will be no longer associated with the work center.
