Creating a Payment Directive
Payment directives can be created using Transaction FMPO via the SAP main menu .
In order to create a payment directive, proceed as follows:
Call Transaction FMPO and select the reference documents by entering the datarequired on the selection screen.
Specify the company code, the fiscal year, the document type and the currency. The data you enter here serves as search criteria for the documents to be used as a reference for the creation of the payment directive.
In the lower screen section, enter the data relevant to the payment directive. Click on Execute .
In the next screen, enter the amount to be posted. Using the Check icon, you can also check the documents to be posted without actually posting.
By putting the cursor on a document number and clicking on the Show document icon, you can also display the corresponding reference documents. See Displaying Payment Directive Data for further information.
Post the document by saving the payment directive. A new document has now been created and posted in the system. This document includes a reference to the invoice on which it is based.
Note
In the background, this FI document is updated in Fund Management (FM) . This update program updates the payments with their invoice references.
The payment directive has been created. Note that the payment directive is an FI document and the standard FI transaction FB03 must be used to display it.
