Background documentationSample Inspection Lot

This activity uses a random generator to select one or more SFC numbers from an SFC group based on the SFC Group Size and Inspection Sample Size values of the shop order (see QM Inspection Tab Page in Shop Order Maintenance). For 100% quality inspection, every SFC number is selected.

You can use this activity to view SFC numbers selected from the SFC group for quality inspection.

For more information, see Integration of Quality Inspection Lot.

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings that you can change for this activity (QM030) in Activity Maintenance:

Rule

Setting

ALLOW_SKIP

YES: The operator can skip inspection of the selected SFC numbers at specified operation.

NO (default): The operator is not allowed to skip inspection of the selected SFC numbers at specified operation.

BLOCK_ORDER

This rule applies only to less than 100% quality inspection, when Inspection Sample Size is less than Build Qty of the Production shop order.

YES (default): Does not allow you to complete any SFC numbers of this shop order at an inspection operation until you enter parameter values for SFC numbers randomly selected for quality inspection when SFC group size is achieved and quality inspection evaluation results are received from SAP ERP (QM).

NO: Allows you to enter parameter values for sample SFC numbers either at this inspection operation or at an operation that has Block SFCs Until Inspection Finished selected (see Routing Step Properties). Allows you to complete all SFC numbers of the shop order at this inspection operation no matter if SFC group size is achieved. Evaluation of all sample SFC numbers in SAP ERP (QM) is triggered at an operation that has Block SFCs Until Inspection Finished selected.

DISPLAY_PLUGIN_100QI

Applies to 100% Quality Inspection

YES (default): Displays the Sample Inspection Lot POD plug-in when the user chooses a POD button with QM030 assigned.

NO: Does not display the Sample Inspection Lot POD plug-in the user chooses a POD button with QM030 assigned. The system adds a selected SFC number to an SFC group and marks the SFC number as a sample in the background.

PLUGIN_URL

Default value: /COM/SAP/ME/SAMPLING/CLIENT/INSPECTIONLOTPLUGIN.JSP

Fields

The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:

Sample Inspection Lot

Field

Description

SFC Group

The unique identifier of the group of SFC numbers selected for quality inspection

Choose the identifier link to open to SFC Group Detail screen and view members of this group.

SFC Group Size

The total quantity of SFC numbers in the inspection group. In case of serialized SFC numbers, this size equals the quantity of SFC numbers in the group.

Note that this is not the SFC quantity.

Note that this field is not visible for 100% quality inspection.

Sample SFC

Indicates the SFC number to be inspected

If the SFC number has a quantity of 1 and has been selected as a sample SFC number, the value is the same as in the Original SFC column and cannot be changed.

If the SFC number has a quantity greater than 1 and has been selected as a sample SFC number, a new value shall be provided. The cell behavior depends on the GENERATE_ID activity rule.

SFCs Selected

Displays the quantity of SFC numbers selected in the POD

OK

Marks selected SFC numbers as sample SFC numbers, changes the status of these SFC numbers to Active and closes the Sample Inspection Lot plug-in.

Skip

Allows you to skip inspection of the selected SFC numbers at this operation.

For 100% quality inspection, the system completes the selected SFC number at this operation.

For non–100% quality inspection, the system completes the selected SFC numbers at this operation. If the BLOCK_ORDER activity rule is set to YES, the system changes the status of the SFC group to Sample Skipped (see SFC Group).

Note that this button is displayed only if the ALLOW_SKIP activity rule is set to YES.

Cancel

Closes the Sample Inspection Lot plug-in. SFC numbers selected for quality inspection remain in the Complete Pending status at this operation.

SFC Group Detail

Field

Description

SFC

The original SFC number value in the SFC group

Qty

The original quantity of the SFC number

Sample SFC

Y: Indicates that this SFC number is selected for inspection.

If left blank, then the SFC number is not sampled.

Note that this column is blank for a non-serialized sample SFC number unless the entire quantity of the original SFC number is randomly selected for inspection and thus no split to a child SFC number is required.

Prerequisites

  • You have imported production order data with quality inspection information from SAP ERP (see Transfer of Production Order with Quality Inspection Lot).

  • In POD Maintenance, you have defined a POD of Operation or Work Center type with the following settings:

    • On the Buttons tab page, you have added a button which invokes the Complete (PR510) activity followed by the Sample Inspection Lot (QM030) activity.

    • On the Layout tab page, you have added the Sample Inspection Lot (QM030) POD plug-in.

In Activity Maintenance, you have verified activity rule settings for QM030 (Sample Inspection Lot) and DC500 (DC Collect). For more information, see Data Collection Entry.
