Create and Release SFC

You use this activity to create a shop order and release SFC numbers for the material all at once. The system creates SFC numbers for the materials in the shop order, and places them in queue at the first operation on the specified routing. For more information, see Shop Order and SFC Number.

Create and Release SFC does not support subsequent releases of SFCs on the same shop order. Use Shop Order Release.

Integration

If you have defined at least one shop order field as required in Custom Data Maintenance, you cannot create and release SFC numbers using this activity.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Field	Description
Material	The name of the product, part, or component to be built
Quantity	The quantity (number of pieces) of the material to be built Note The total number of SFC numbers created may or may not equal this value, depending on the material's lot size. For example, if the material’s lot size is 2, and you enter 2 in the Quantity field, the system creates one SFC number with a lot size of 2. End of the note.
Customer Order	The customer order the system is to associate this shop order with
Shop Order	The shop order to be released to the floor If left blank, the system automatically assigns the shop order number. Follow the conventions of your shop floor.
LCC	The labor charge code for the shop order specified in the Shop Order field The system assigns this LCC to each SFC number generated on release of this shop order. Leave blank to use the default LCC. You can change the LCC for any shop order that has releasable SFC numbers. Note that you can use it only with sites where Labor Tracking is set up (see Labor Charge Code).
Work Center	The work center to release SFC number for the product to
Add to New Process Lot	If selected, the system groups the SFC numbers that you release to the floor into a process lot. POD operators can then reference all the SFC numbers with the process lot number. Otherwise, POD operators can reference the SFC numbers individually by SFC number or by shop order number.
