You use this activity to create and change the details about tool numbers (see Tool Number).

This activity allows you to do the following:

  • Assign the tool number to a tool group

  • Enter calibration characteristics

  • Define measurement points on the Measurement Points tab page.

  • Enter custom data values (see Custom Data)

  • Browse a tool number according to search criteria

Fields

The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:

Main Tab

Field

Description

Status

The current status of the tool number

Enabled (default): This tool is enabled and ready to use.

Disabled: This tool is disabled and no longer valid for use.

Productive: This tool has a normal, running machine status.

Standby: This tool is ready to run, but it is idle.

Engineering: This tool has an alternative running status.

Scheduled Down: This tool is closed for scheduled maintenance (preventive maintenance).

Unscheduled Down: This tool is closed for unscheduled maintenance.

Non Scheduled: This tool is not scheduled to be in use. The line is closed.

Note that the following values are displayed in the Status field, but they are not applicable: Unknown, Hold, Hold SPC Warn, Hold Consec NC, Hold Yield Rate, Hold SPC viol.

ERP Equipment Number

Related to SAP ME ERP Integration (see SAP ME ERP Integration (SAPMEINT))

The equipment number manually created for this tool in SAP ERP

ERP Plant Maintenance Order

Related to SAP ME ERP Integration

The Plant Maintenance (PM) order manually created for this tool in SAP ERP based on a notification from SAP ME

Tool Group

A tool group to which the tool is assigned

Quantity Available

The quantity of physical tools for the selected tool number

Note Note

The quantity cannot exceed the tool group quantity value. For Serialized Control tools, this field is disabled and equals to 1.

Location

The location of the tool

Calibration Tab

Field

Description

Calibration Type

The type of tool calibration

None: No calibration is selected. None of the input fields is displayed.

Time (default): The user can set up calibration defaults for new tools. Available values are: Months, Days, Years.

Date: The user can set up an expiration date.

Start Calibration Date

The date from which the calibration period is started

Calibration Period

The period of time prior to the next calibration date

Available values are: Months, Days, Years.

Note Note

This field is available only if the Time and Date calibration types are specified.

Expiration Date

The expiration date of a calibration type

Note Note

This field is available only if the Time calibration type is specified. The user can only select a date from the calendar.
