Payment Card Master Record
Data allocated to a payment card and which defines the features of this card in the process Payment Card Processing in Accounting .
You can differentiate between two types of payment cards:
Main card
The main card is issued to the organization and not to an individual employee. It is not a real (physical) object, but exists on the one hand as a data record in the inbound file of the credit card institute (clearing center) and on the other as master record in the system. With the main card, the total of payment card purchases per period is paid as a collective invoice to the clearing center. In the master record of the main card, the account assignment of the collective invoice is saved with the specification of the vendor (clearing center) and of the G/L account.

Employee Payment Card
This payment card is issued to an employee of your organization. It fulfills the function of purchasing goods and services in the name of your organization and regulating the payment via a payment card institute (clearing center).
In the master record of the payment card, you can define from which purchase amount a parked document is generated. Card transaction amounts below this amount limit become normally posted documents on document generation. You have to define for parked documents whether these documents are processed in Workflow. In the master record of the payment card, you define the processor range for changing and posting parked documents.
Note
If you have set the Workflow indicator in the master record of the employee payment card, then parked documents can only be posted to actual accounting documents in Workflow.
A default account assignment with the specification of an OTA vendor is saved in the master record of an employee payment card. If, when posting, no regular vendor is found in the system, on the basis of vendor information in the dataset of a card transaction, then the OTA of the master record is applied.

The following data is defined in the master record of the payment card:
Data of the respective payment card institute
ID data of the card holder (for employee payment cards)
Validity period and maximum purchasing amount
Control data for parked documents, Workflow and processor range
one or more default account assignment lines with different valid start dates
Note
A G/L account and a vendor must always be specified in the master record. You can also save account assignment objects for the accounting document, cost center, network, commitment item, funds center, fund and funds reservation.
Whichever default account assignment in the payment card master record that is valid for the transaction date of the payment card file is the one used when generating FI accounting documents.
The default account assignment specified in the card master record is not considered for generating accounting documents if a Credit Voucher with varying account assignment was earmarked.
