You use this activity to split any quantity of one SFC number into one or more new SFC numbers. You can also specify the entire quantity to relabel the SFC number (see Production Operator Dashboard (POD)).
The system copies related records to the new SFC numbers (see Serialization Rules).
Note
You cannot serialize an SFC number if it is a member of an SFC group whose status is either Group Created
or Sampling Active
(see Sampling).
Note
For information about automatically splitting non-serialized SFCs, see Relaxed Routing Flow and NC Dispositioning.
The ALLOW_ACTIVE_SFC_SPLIT
activity rule is set to TRUE
to allow an SFC number with the Active
status to be split.

Note
If SFC Split
appears after you choose Log NC
, the Qty to Split
field is display only, and shows the quantity of SFC numbers you are nonconforming.
In the New SFC
field, enter the SFC number you want the system to use to identify the new SFC number.
Note
If the AUTOMATIC_ID_GENERATION
activity rule is set to TRUE
, the system automatically generates new SFC numbers using the SFC Release pattern in Next Number Maintenance

Choose Split
.
Note
To split an additional quantity from the SFC number identified in the SFC
field, repeat steps 1
through 3

The system performs the split and displays information about the new SFC number in the table. The system adds a row each time you split an SFC number off the parent SFC number.
