You can use this business function to establish a governance process for financial master data. The governance of the master data is centralized and managed by an approval process. The changes are documented at all times and can be replicated in the decentralized systems.

This business function extends the functionality of Master Data Governance for Financials which has been provided by the business function Master Data Governance for Financials 7.0(MDG_FINANCIALS_4), released with SAP enhancement package 7 for SAP ERP.

Replication of Master Data Using Enterprise Services

You have made the required settings in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications Next navigation step Master Data Governance Next navigation step Master Data Governance for Financials End of the navigation path.

Note that if you want to use point-to-point communication for the enterprise services, you must also activate the business function Improvements for SOA Reuse Functions (FND_SOA_REUSE_1).

Features

This business function helps you to govern financial master data more easily using data model 0G. This allows for the following:

  • Increased compliance and governance

  • Consistent organizational structures in operational and consolidation systems

  • Greater efficiency and less manual work

  • High quality and transparency.

The following new features can be used with this business function:

  • Changeable IDs for MDG-F entity types

    SAP MDG-F allows you to use a default ID for your entity types initially, with the option to change them at a later stage of the creation process.

    For changeable IDs, changes to IDs are not tracked by the change documents.

  • Multi-copying for accounts in company code

    You can now copy existing company code data to one or more company codes when you select a G/L account.

  • One-step creation of accounts and their related primary cost elements

    You can now create the primary cost elements that are part of the G/L account in the same process step.

  • Enhanced BCV content to display changed fields

    Context-relevant information can be displayed in the side panel to enhance the overview of the current data record.

  • Enhanced search capabilities with an out-of-the-box integration of SAP HANA Search

    The HANA Search methods are delivered for all MDG-F objects, including freestyle search, fuzzy search, and similarity ranking.

  • Simplified user interfaces with new MDG-F Fiori applications

    You can now request the creation of a new cost center or profit center using the new SAP Fiori applications.
