Communication channels transfer a wide variety of different business data that needs to be protected from unauthorized access. SAP makes general recommendations and provides technology for the protection of your system landscape based on SAP NetWeaver.

The table below shows the communication channels used by Master Data Governance, the protocol used for the connection, and the type of data transferred.

For example, passwords, business data

DIAG and RFC connections can be protected using Secure Network Communications (SNC). HTTP connections are protected using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL protocol).
