You can use this business function to improve the governance process for your material master data. This business function provides a new and more flexible user interface, support for the classic workflow template, support for long material numbers, and change management for classification data.

Integration

Master Data Governance for Material 2 must be used together with the SAP ERP material master to improve data quality and transparency. The SAP ERP material master serves as the active area for Master Data Governance for Material.

Features

The Master Data Governance for Material 2 business function offers the following features:

  • New User Interface

    The new interface grants increased flexibility, extensibility, and usability. The UI layout can be personalized to suit the needs of the individual user.

  • Support for Classic Workflow

    Master Data Governance for Material now supports the use of a classic workflow template to create and enhance workflows. User task assignment follows the same pattern used in EHP5 for the classic workflow: a combination of configuration activity and BAdI implementation.

  • Integration of Long Material Number

    You can now use long material numbers with Master Data Governance for Material.

  • Change Management for Classification

    You can now use Engineering Change Numbers (ECNs) for material classification data within Master Data Governance for Material.
