You can use this business function to employ enhanced features of SAP Master Data Governance for data modeling, UI modeling, process modeling, and data replication to other systems. You can ensure the quality of the data by configuring checks, validations, and data enrichments.

You can use this business function to tailor the preconfigured data models for Financials, Material, Supplier, and Customer, or to create your own data models without using a template.

Integration

Once the business function is activated, you can adjust your Customizing settings under Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications Next navigation step Master Data Governance Next navigation step General Settings End of the navigation path. In the target systems, you activate the business functions of SAP Master Data Governance that are relevant to your applications.

  • Example data model for the master data governance of custom objects

  • Custom objects in the customer-specific reuse active area

Process Enhancement and Configuration

  • Configuration of the UI and properties of workflow steps

  • Configuration of data enrichment

  • Configuration of searches and duplicate checks

  • UI with Business Context Viewer

Data Replication Framework and Data Transfer

  • Replication of selected objects

  • Determination of the target system in change requests

  • Export, import, and conversion of master data

Analytics

  • Service level agreement

  • Analysis of the processes of change requests

  • Enhanced list functions of change requests

Authorization Roles

SAP delivers the following new authorization roles:

  • Custom Objects for Master Data Governance (SAP_MDGX_MENU)
