You can use this business function to establish a governance process for financial master data. The governance of the master data is centralized and managed by an approval process. The changes are documented at all times and can be replicated in the decentralized systems.

This business function extends the functionality of Master Data Governance for Financials which has been provided by the business function Master Data Governance for Financials 3 (MDG_FINANCIALS_3), released with SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP.

Note that if you want to use point-to-point communication for the enterprise services, you must also activate the business function Improvements for SOA Reuse Functions (FND_SOA_REUSE_1).

Features

This business function helps you to govern financial master data more easily using data model 0G. This allows for the following:

  • Increased compliance and governance

  • Consistent organizational structures in operational and consolidation systems

  • Greater efficiency and less manual work

  • High quality and transparency.

The following new features can be used with this business function:

New User Interfaces

We have created new financial UIs to give a uniform look and feel to MDG. Some of the changes include the following:

  • New single maintenance UI for all financial objects

  • Improved usability, navigation, and transparency

  • Maintenance of the G/L account and company code account in the same UI

  • Maintenance of the financial reporting structure and financial reporting structure items in the same UI.

Enhanced Data Replication

We have enhanced the data replication. Object-based replication is now possible.

Enhanced Data Model 0G

We have enhanced the data model 0G and added new address and communication data for the cost center, profit center, and company.

Enhanced Edition Management

You can use enhanced edition management to improve the flexibility in how you manage editions and schedule changes to edition-based business objects. We have implemented new initial load functionality.

We have introduced 3 new areas in the work center — accounting, controlling, and consolidation. For this, we have created the following new menu and authorization roles:
