In the Integration user menu, you can, among other things, specify or change the user data for the DBM operator and for the standard liveCache user. To allow communication between SAP liveCache and the SAP system, the DBM operator and the standard liveCache user must be known, since the SAP system differentiates between two types of communication:

  • If you want to connect to the DBM server for SAP liveCache administration purposes, you need to specify the DBM operator and password. The storage of the DBM operator data in the SAP system can be either centralized or decentralized (Central/Decentral Authorization). SAP recommends that you store user data centrally.

  • You must specify the standard liveCache user and password to connect to the SAP liveCache database.

The DBM operator and the standard liveCache user are stored in the SAP system and in the SAP liveCache database instance during the installation of an SAP system that uses an SAP liveCache database instance. Further action for this SAP liveCache database is not normally required.

You should, however, check that the user data exists before starting SAP liveCache operations, and correct or complete it, if required. You can create and change the names and the passwords for the DBM operator and the standard liveCache user in the SAP system.

Caution Caution

If the user data in the SAP system does not match the user data in the SAP liveCache database, you must manually change the user data in the SAP liveCache database, since saving the user data in the SAP system does not update the SAP liveCache database data.

Prerequisites

In accordance with the Authorization Concept, the user was assigned one of the roles SAP_BC_LVC_ADMINISTRATOR or SAP_BC_LVC_SUPERUSER. You can reach the user menu of the user with the authorizations that correspond to his or her role.

Procedure

  1. In the user menu, choose liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10).

  2. Enter the name of the database connection.

  3. Choose   liveCache   Integration  .

  4. To be able to change integration information, you must be in change mode. Switch to this mode, if necessary.

  5. Check the SAP liveCache connection information (liveCache Name, liveCache Server) for completeness and accuracy.

  6. Choose User Data.

  7. Configure the DBM operator and the standard liveCache user.

    DBM Operator:

    If the SAP liveCache connection already exists, the user name selected during the installation is displayed. You can change this. Enter and confirm your chosen password. If you want to use central authorization for the user, select Central Authorization.

    Standard liveCache User:

    If the SAP liveCache connection already exists, the user name selected during the installation is displayed. You can change this. Enter and confirm your chosen password.

  8. Choose   Connection   Save  .

Result

The names and passwords are converted to upper-case letters and encrypted by the SAP system.

The user data for the DBM operator is stored in the DBCONUSR table in the SAP system. The user data for the standard liveCache user is stored in the DBCON table. If you make changes, the corresponding entries in the table DBCONUSR or DBCON of the SAP system are updated.

Caution Caution

If the user data in the SAP system does not match the user data in the SAP liveCache database, you must manually change the user data in the SAP liveCache database, since saving the user data in the SAP system does not update the database data.

  • You can change the DBM operator using any client of the Database Manager (DBMCLI, DBMRFC) (more information: Database Administration, DBM Operators).

  • You can change the standard liveCache user in the SAP liveCache database using a query tool of your choice (such as Database Studio or SQLCLI) by entering a corresponding SQL statement (more information: Database Administration, Database Users).

If you have selected decentral authorization, you must also store the user data on every application server in the XUSER file. To do so, follow the procedure described in Central/Decentral Authorization.

The changing of user data for an SAP liveCache database is logged in the SysLog of your SAP sysem (transaction SM21).
