Creating the Technical User for a Role-Based SystemLocate this document in the navigation structure

Create the account under which collections and alerts run.

Prerequisites

  • The IQC_TECHNICAL_USER_POLICY login policy exists (created by the SAP IQ Cockpit role script).
  • You have MANAGE ANY USER system privilege.
  • The SAP IQ system is running, registered, and authenticated.
  • In a multiplex configuration, the coordinator is running.
  • In a multiplex, you are logged on to the multiplex system, not a node within the multiplex (for example, the coordinator).
  • The selected SAP IQ system supports role-based security.

Procedure

  1. In SAP IQ Cockpit, click the EXPLORE tab.
  2. In the left pane, expand Start of the navigation path IQ Servers Next navigation step Security Next navigation step Role-Based End of the navigation path, and then click Users.
  3. In the left pane, do one of:
    • Click the arrow to the right of the name.
    • Click the Actions button.
  4. Select New.
  5. On the Welcome page, specify:
    Option Description
    Select a resource on which the user will be created. Select a system.
    Note If the selected system does not support role-based security, an error message appears.
    What do you want to name the new user? Enter a unique user ID.
    Create as technical user Select to create a technical user.
  6. On the Password page:
    Option Description
    Enable password Select to define a password. The technical user account must have a password defined.
    Password Create a strong user password. Characters appear as asterisks.
    Confirm password Confirm the password. The contents of the two password fields must match exactly.
    Login policy Do not change. The login policy of the technical user must be IQC_TECHNICAL_USER_POLICY.
  7. Click Finish.
