User Administration and AuthenticationLocate this document in the navigation structure

SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite uses the user management and authentication mechanisms provided with the SAP HANA appliance software SPS 08. Therefore, the security recommendations and guidelines for user administration and authentication as described in the SAP HANA Security Guide apply. User Administration
  • Named User

Necessary for other clients such as SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite UIs.

  • User Types

All user types that are described in the SAP HANA security guide are necessary.

  • Standard Users

No special users are required for SAP HANA Live.

Note the following:

Note

When using SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite, you must ensure that the user’s technical name on SAP HANA is identical with the technical user name on ABAP Application Server. For the side-by-side scenario, with multiple source systems replicating to the same SAP HANA appliance, you must ensure that this is true for all source systems.

User Data Synchronization

Synchronization needs to be done manually or automatically, for example by using SAP’s identity management solution.

Integration into Single Sign-On Environments

SAP recommends using the SAP logon ticket.

SAP HANA Live for SAP Business Suite supports the use of logon tickets for Single Sign-On when using a Web browser as the front-end client. In this case, users receive a logon ticket after they have authenticated themselves with a ticket issued by the SAP system. The ticket is then submitted to other systems (within the same domain) as an authentication token, for example to SAP HANA extended application services. The user does not need to enter a user ID or password for authentication but can access the system directly after the system has checked the logon ticket.
