SAP HANA Live BrowserLocate this document in the navigation structure

SAP HANA Live Browser is an SAP UI5 Web-based application that allows you to quickly and easily browse and tag SAP HANA content views, and consume them in SAP Lumira or SAP BusinessObjects Analysis to analyze the data. With this Web application, you can browse SAP HANA content views organized by Application Component Hierarchy (ACH) or browse SAP HANA content views organized by package.

SAP HANA Live Browser also allows you to generate SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server files for a view or a package as a CSV file. The SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server file contains information about tables that need to be replicated for that view or package to work.

You can either download the SAP HANA Live Browser from SAP Solution Manager or directly from SAP Service Marketplace at https://support.sap.com/swdcInformation published on SAP site.

Prerequisites

You have installed SAP HANA Content Tools 1.0, Instance Analytical Framework Explorer during the step Download and Deploy Content Package.

SAP HANA Live Browser Configuration

  1. Assign roles

    In the SAP HANA studio, navigate to the Security folder, search for a user and assign the developer or business role.

    • Technical name of developer role: sap.hba.explorer.roles::Developer

    • Technical name of business user role: sap.hba.explorer.roles::Business

  2. Access the SAP HANA Live Browser

    The user with the developer role can access the application using the following URL:

    http://<WebServerHost>:80<SAPHANAinstance>/sap/hba/explorer/index.html (with Shell)

    The user with the business role can access the application using the URLs:

    • http://<WebServerHost>:80<SAPHANAinstance>/sap/hba/explorer/index.html (with Shell)

    • http://<WebServerHost>:80<SAPHANAinstance>/sap/hba/explorer/buser.html (without Shell)

Note

You can log on to SAP HANA Live Browser either as a developer or business user. As a business user you can see all the views in SAP HANA Live Browser to which the user has access. You can open contents of the view, analyze the view using either SAP BusinessObjects Analysis or SAP Lumira (SAP Lumira™), and check the metadata.

If you log on to SAP HANA Live Browser as a developer, you can see all views in the SAP HANA system; there are no limitations. In addition to the business user functions, you can also personalize views using tags, search for views, check view cross-references, and generate SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server files to find out the tables to replicate for a view or group of views.
