To display a report, you must associate it with an evaluation. An evaluation is a combination of filter settings (the variant), parameters, and authorizations related to a report that defines what may be seen by the SAP Smart Business user at runtime. On the Evaluations step of the Edit Report screen, click Add Evaluation to open the Add Evaluation screen.

Procedure

Applying a New or Existing Variant
  1. On the Variant step, select Create New Variant and fill-out the following fields:

    • Variant ID:

      Enter the full path to where the variant it is stored. You must enter the variant ID in English.

    • Variant Title:

      Enter a meaningful name for the variant that helps you to identify the purpose of the variant outside the context of the KPI.

    • Description:

      Describe the purpose of the variant.

    • OData Path:

      The OData path field is prefilled from the report definition.

    • Entity Set:

      The entity set field is prefilled from the report definition.

    • Tags:

      Enter relevant tags to make it easier to search for the variant.

    • Filter Settings:

      Enter the filter parameters to limit the output to a specific business purpose (for example, to limit the selection to Country: US).

      You must include the SAP client as a filter criterion even if the client is not a parameter but an attribute of the SAP HANA calculation view. However, this does not replace the proper authorization setup.

    • Input Parameters:

      Enter values for each of the input parameters expected by the SAP HANA calculation view.

  2. Alternatively, choose Apply Existing Variant to search for and select existing variants using the search field. Details of the selected variant appear in the detail view to the right of search field.

  3. Choose Next to apply the variant.

Applying Parameters
  1. On the Parameters step, fill-out the following fields:

    • Evaluation Title:

      The evaluation title field is prefilled from the report definition.

      Click Additional Language Title to open the Add Title in Additional Language screen. Select the additional language in which you require a title and enter the title text. Choose Add and then Ok to close the screen.

    • Dimensions:

      Enter the required dimensions, for example month or week.

    • Measures:

      The available measures are predetermined by the SAP HANA calculation view.

    • Tags:

      Enter the relevant tags to make it easier to search.

  2. Choose Next to apply the parameters and move to the next step.

Setting Authorizations

On the Authorizations step, search for users and roles and select them to define who can see the report evaluation at runtime. For more information about authorizations, see Managing Authorizations.

Activating the Report and the Evaluation
  1. On the home screen, select the report or evaluation and click the Activate pushbutton.

  2. Choose Multiselect to activate several reports or evaluations at the same time.
