Documents (0702)
In this infotype, which you have to maintain during the relocation preparation phase and which is split into a number of subtypes defined in Customizing, you store all the legal documents that are needed for global assignments:
· Passport
· Visa application
· Residence permit
· Work permit
This list is not exhaustive. For example, you could also need a medical or an innoculation record. Usually, the above-mentioned documents have to be checked during the assignment preparation phase and be available prior to activation, depending on the nationality of the candidate you are processing. Since some applications may result in time-consuming processes, it is recommended that you plan them carefully.
Note
Although only this infotype should be used for the global employee’s documents, you may already have stored documents in other country-specific document infotypes, such as Personal IDs (0185), which is used to store passports in the Asian countries.
This infotype enables you to define the document characteristics on the basis of the applicable immigration laws and keep track of the documents during the application process.
