Allocation: Determination of Recipients Supplied by a DC
Use
You can have the system automatically find all the recipients supplied by a distribution center. It finds a recipient if the distribution center concerned is defined as a valid supplying site on the date of the first site delivery phase. If no delivery phases are entered for the sites, the system checks the validity of the distribution center as a supplying site for the current date.
If you use recipient determination and also enter a site group or an allocation rule for selecting the recipients, the system only finds the recipients that are contained in the site group or allocation rule.
Integration
The system analyzes the site master records of the recipients to find the recipients supplied by the distribution center. The distribution center must therefore be entered as a valid supplying site in the site master of the recipients.
Prerequisites
The recipients are determined automatically in line with the allocation table item category. You can activate recipient determination in Customizing for allocations for the various item categories by setting the relevant flag for supply source determination.
Example
You created an allocation table item for which automatic recipient determination is active. The goods are to be distributed via distribution center R300. The first site delivery phase is on 01.10. of the same year. On this date, the distribution center is a valid supplying site for stores R310, R311 and R312. When recipient determination is run, the system therefore finds these stores as sites for the item.
If in addition to the distribution center, you also enter site group R3000 consisting of sites R311, R312, R313 and R314, the system only uses the sites found in recipient determination that are contained in the site group. The recipients are therefore sites R311 and R312.
