If you receive a purchase order containing SLS data by EDI, the SLS data and any sub-items from the purchase order are included in the sales order, using the same structure as in the purchase order.

For SLS sub-items to be generated in the sales order, the control table for the Sales Order application has to be maintained in the SLS profile (in Customizing for Merchandise Distribution). The relevant combination of event/sales document category/sales document type (for example, Create/Sales order/Standard order) must be assigned a follow-up action that is appropriate for the SLS in question.

• You can enter SLS sub-items online. Each sub-item is a separate item in the sales order and refers to the main item. You have to enter the SLS data at sub-item level.

• When a sales order item is created for which an SLS is required, the system automatically determines the item category using the sales document category, the article, the customer, and the SLS. Item category determination is not run for a second time when you change or delete the item concerned.

• You can include the costs of SLS in Pricing and have them updated in RIS. Information structure S108 is available for analyzing these costs in RIS.
